Paul Spencer, Democratic candidate for Arkansas's Second Congressional District, released the following statement today after signing the U.S. Term Limits Pledge.
Candidate Spencer provided the following statement:
"We have seen time and time again, a candidate for office run on a platform of 'reform.' But that promise often quickly proves to be hollow. Once elected, these 'reformers' do little to improve the lives of the people in their districts and instead turn their attention to their wealthy campaign donors.
By signing this pledge, I agree to co-sponsor legislation limiting a representative to three two-year House terms and two six-year Senate terms. In addition, I agree to these limits in my own public service career.
We cannot keep electing former bankers like Congressman French Hill and expect anything other than the failed status quo. Term limits give the people of the Second District the representation they deserve."
